Trennie Burch (she/her)

Co-Founder  |  Executive Director

Trennie Burch (she/her) is a proud member of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe and co-founder of Ignacio Out and Equal Alliance (IOEA). Rooted in the Southern Ute Indian Reservation, Trennie brings a lifelong commitment to community advocacy, youth empowerment, and Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ visibility. Her work with IOEA centers on cultural safety, education, and creating affirming spaces for Indigenous LGBTQ2S+ youth and their families.

With a strong foundation in grassroots organizing, Trennie has co-founded regional mutual aid networks and served on statewide initiatives including Colorado’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Task Force. She is a former Transformative Leadership for Change fellow and currently serves on the Denver American Indian Commission, where she advocates for Indigenous representation and wellness across urban and tribal communities.

Through IOEA, Trennie weaves together cultural tradition, justice, and love to uplift the voices of Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ relatives and build a more inclusive future across Native Country.

IOEA is proud to introduce the dedicated members of our board, a diverse and passionate group of leaders committed to advancing equity, inclusion, and advocacy for Two-Spirit and LGBTQAI+ individuals, families, and allies. Each member brings a unique perspective and expertise, united by a shared mission to create safe, supportive, and inclusive communities across the Southwest, including the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Reservations.

The Co-Founders

A collective of local LGBTQ2S+ advocates committed to creating safe, inclusive spaces for youth and families on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation. Together, they focus on education, awareness, and community support rooted in Indigenous values.
